What does Thawte wildcard cover?
A base domain and its first-level subdomains. For example.com and *.example.com, www.example.com and shop.example.com are covered. login.shop.example.com and example.net require a different configuration.
Are Thawte and DigiCert the same brand?
Thawte is powered by DigiCert, but the product branding, packages and service bundles differ. Use the named Thawte product and its covered names when choosing; a shared issuer does not mean you need to buy duplicate certificates.
Does Thawte offer more than these four products?

How do I validate a Thawte certificate?
Follow the exact CA instructions supplied for the order. Non-wildcard names may use an eligible DNS, approved email or file method. File validation cannot validate wildcard coverage, so plan for DNS access. OV also requires organization review.
How long does Thawte issuance take?
DV is usually quick after successful domain validation. OV also depends on organization checks and an available authorized contact. DNS propagation, incomplete records or further review can delay issuance. Payment verification is a separate step.
Do I need a CSR before buying Thawte SSL?
You can order first, then submit a CSR and domain details through your account after meeting the payment requirements. Ask for help if needed. Keep the private key on your server; do not send it with the CSR or upload it to support.
Does a three-year subscription give one three-year certificate?
No. The subscription contains shorter-lived certificates that need revalidation, replacement and installation during the plan, including a one-year subscription. Follow the actual expiry date and current CA requirements.
Are reissue, installation and renewal the same?
Reissue replaces a certificate during an active subscription. Installation deploys the certificate and chain to your server. Renewal after the subscription ends is a new purchase. Assistance follows the agreed support scope.
Is DigiCert CertCentral or managed automation included?
