    You can order first and request setup help after the payment requirements are met. Provide a CSR from your server or ask for guidance. Keep the matching private key on your server; do not send it by email or support ticket.

  3. Complete the required verification

    OV checks control of the requested domains, the organization’s identity and the applicant’s authorization. Plan for DNS access for wildcard validation. Use the record supplied for your order. Payment confirmation and certificate validation are separate steps.

  4. Install and check your certificate

    After issuance, download the certificate and chain from your account. Install them with the matching private key, verify HTTPS for the covered names and track the actual certificate expiry.

Both cover one base domain and its first-level subdomains. SSL123 Wildcard checks domain control; Thawte Wildcard SSL also verifies your organization and authorization.

Can I use a validation file for Thawte Wildcard SSL?

A file-based HTTP or HTTPS check cannot validate wildcard coverage. Plan for DNS access and follow the exact CA instructions supplied for your order. Organization checks must also finish before issuance.

Does Thawte Wildcard SSL cover another domain or a second subdomain level?
