An Organization Validation (OV) SSL certificate verifies an organization's identity as well as its control of the requested domain names. Choose OV when your website or purchasing requirements call for verified organization details.
OV adds identity checks, rather than stronger encryption than DV. If you only need to prove domain control, compare Domain Validation (DV) certificates. Your domain coverage and server configuration remain separate decisions.
OV describes the identity checks. Select coverage separately for the website names you want to protect.
Choose a single-domain OV certificate. Check the product specifications for coverage of your main domain and www.
Choose OV wildcard SSL for first-level subdomains such as mail.example.com. Confirm base-domain coverage; deeper subdomains need separate review.
