Multi-domain SSL covers a specified set of domain names in one certificate. Compare the included allowance, additional SAN costs and subscription total for your exact list. Wildcard support and root/www counting depend on the selected product.
A multi-domain SSL certificate protects several specified website names, such as example.com, example.net and portal.example.org, using one certificate. These products are also commonly called SAN SSL or UCC certificates. SAN stands for Subject Alternative Name: the certificate field that lists the covered names.
Choose DV multi-domain SSL for domain-control verification, or OV multi-domain SSL when you need verified organization details. Validation level and domain coverage are separate choices.
Start with the actual website names. A multi-domain certificate covers named entries; wildcard coverage follows a matching subdomain pattern.
Choose multi-domain SSL for an exact list, such as example.com and example.net. Check the name allowance and product limit for the complete list.
A wildcard such as *.example.com covers matching first-level subdomains. Check base-domain coverage; it does not cover a different domain such as example.net.
If you need *.example.com and *.example.net, review products that explicitly support multiple wildcard names. Ordinary multi-domain SSL does not imply this coverage.
Use the current BDT prices above as a starting point. Compare each product with the same website list and subscription term.
Each package states how many names are included. List the root domain, www and any other required hostnames, then check how that product counts them.
Names beyond the included allowance may add to the total. Review supported SAN types, available additions and the configured price on the product page.
Compare the full payable plan total as well as its annual equivalent. Confirm any installation or ongoing support separately in the offer.
Quantity is not the domain count. Increasing certificate quantity purchases separate subscriptions. Use the selected product's additional-domain options for extra supported names, or request a quotation.
Agree the domain list and responsibilities before ordering so your technical team can complete validation and deployment.
Record each domain, www name and subdomain. Identify who manages DNS or hosting for each, and confirm the full set fits the selected product.
Generate the CSR in your hosting environment and keep the private key there. Submit the complete name list and follow the CA's domain-control checks. OV also requires organization verification.
After issuance, check the certificate includes the intended names. Install the certificate and chain in the required hosting setup, then verify each website.
Subscription length is separate from certificate expiry. Plan for replacement and installation during the plan, and review the renewal and reissue policy before buying.
Share your public website names, preferred DV or OV validation, subscription term and required date. Include any wildcard, installation or purchasing-document requirements so we can review the complete configuration.
For a wider business purchase, explore Enterprise SSL planning. Bangladesh government offices can use the Government Desk.
Compare the current BDT prices in the catalogue, then open a product to check the total for your subscription and additional names. Base packages include different name allowances, so use the same domain list when comparing offers. Request a quotation for a configuration that is not listed.
SAN SSL and UCC are commonly used names for multi-domain certificates. SAN refers to the field listing covered names; UCC means Unified Communications Certificate. For a specific application or server, confirm the selected product meets its certificate requirements.
The included allowance and maximum supported names depend on the product. Check its specifications and additional-domain options. Do not assume that every product includes the same number of names or supports unlimited additions.
The product's verified coverage and counting rules determine this. Include both example.com and www.example.com in your required list, then check their treatment before choosing extra SANs. Do not assume one entered name automatically covers both.
Only when the selected product explicitly supports the required wildcard names. Ordinary multi-domain SSL covers specified names; a wildcard covers matching subdomains at its supported level. Review the multi-domain wildcard range when you need wildcard coverage across different domains.
Choose DV when domain-control verification meets your requirements. Choose OV when you also need verified organization details. Both require domain checks; validation level does not decide how many names are included or guarantee stronger encryption.
This depends on the selected product, its remaining allowance and the supplier's change process. Confirm additional costs, required validation and reissue steps before requesting a change. The updated certificate may need to be installed again.
The certificate authority must establish the right to include the requested names. Complete its domain-control instructions and coordinate with each domain's administrator. OV products also require organization checks; payment alone does not complete validation.
No. A commercial subscription and an issued certificate have separate lifetimes. Follow the selected product's terms for validation, replacement, installation and renewal throughout the subscription.
